What is Concrete Equipment? 

Concrete equipment is mechanical tools that can store, mix and pour concrete and more. Concrete is commonly used on construction sites, and it requires extensive labor work. Various types of concrete equipment, allow companies to finish the project faster. Of course, different concrete equipment has its own purpose of usage.

In construction, it is very common to rent concrete equipment or tools for concrete work. 

There are 8 common types of concrete equipment rented in construction. 

1. Power Trowel 

The power trowel is equipped with four specially made steel blades to produce a surface finish with a single operation process. The machine comes with a design that keeps the system and blade in a rigid position. It is able to provide a flat surface with a reasonably good surface finish without using a turbo disc. 

2. Cement Grout Pump

A cement grout pump is designed to pump cement grout to fill and repair any cracks and voids. The process will be known as grouting. This process can be utilised for many purposes such as leveling out concrete slabs, waterproofing activities, and more. 

In the market, there are manual or electrical units available. 

3. Concrete Vibrator 

A concrete vibrator comes in many different shapes and sizes. It is used to improve the durability of the concrete during its settling period through vibration. The vibration helps to prevent air bubbles from being formed as wet concrete is being poured. By vibrating the wet concrete, trapped air is being forced out of the concrete mixture.

4. Mixer 

A mixer is designed and built to mix cement, aggregate, and water to form concrete. Traditionally, concrete is mixed by hand. However, the mixer is a common machine to use for concrete mixing now. This is because it is faster and more efficient to do so by using a mixer, increasing the productivity of the project. 

The mixer is also used to prevent concrete from hardening during construction work.  

5. Flat Screed 

A flat screed levels and smoothens the surface of freshly poured concrete. The screed plate has a flat bottom bearing surface with a width sufficient to permit the screed to float on the concrete while the screed is being guided by an operator. It can produce uniform vibration to the screed plate that is used for tamping the concrete. 

6. Concrete Bucket 

A concrete bucket is a container with movable gates at the bottom for the side discharge of concrete. It is used to deliver concrete to the required place. 

7. Rebar Cutter 

A rebar cutter is a tool for cutting through the reinforced bar and even cable. Steel is difficult to cut through, but the process is made easier and safer with the tool. Rebar cutter can work with either electricity or battery. It is often used to cut through rebar for concrete demolition. 

8. Rebar Straightener 

A rebar straightener is a tool that can straighten the steel rebar or bars that are used to store concrete.
