In the summer of 2022, I had the opportunity to intern at Antbuildz.com as a UI/UX designer. It has been a great experience for me and it has given me a great deal of insight into the field of UI/UX. This is my first real experience as UI/UX Designer!
My UI/UX Intern Journey
For three months, I worked on redesigning Antbuildz.com's user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). I was able to redesign and revamp eight of their web pages, including both static and interactive pages. Which is applicable to both the desktop and mobile versions.
Before the start of designing, Antbuildz.com management guided me throughout the business process of the entire platform. By understanding the vision, mission, and core values of the business, I have a better understanding of how to begin my design assignment.
Each web page was designed based on insights gathered through user research, competitor analysis, and design inspirations. As a team, we adopt an iterative design process, where we continuously improve the current design of the website through testing, analyzing, and refining. By doing so, we ensure that our designs align with our business goals and ultimately create a more pleasant user experience.
“UX without a UI is like beauty without brains”

A good UX is as important as a good UI. I found one quote that struck a chord with me.
"User experience without a user interface is like beauty without brains."
There is a tendency to focus on the aesthetics of a website, but it is important to consider how your design contributes to the user experience as well. Working for Antbuildz.com has given me an opportunity to develop this understanding.
In addition to this, I gained a better understanding of what user research is and why it is important. We often take user feedback at face value when conducting user research. However, Antbuildz.com has taught me to dig deeper beneath what users say they want and instead uncover what they actually need. Especially in the B2B context, customer behavior may be totally different from C2C or B2C. Therefore, designing the online rental checkout process is something very challenging, yet meaningful!
Honored to be a part of the Anbuildz mission!

Interning at Antbuildz.com has definitely been a rewarding and insightful learning experience. Antbuildz.com has provided me with an opportunity to expand my design knowledge and skill sets. In the span of 3 months, I was able to take advantage of the design thinking process and revamp their website. Additionally, I had the chance to collaborate with software developers and product managers on regular design reviews and implementations.
I would like to dedicate a special shout-out to Kek and Pouya for their patience and valuable guidance. Thank you for your constant support throughout this internship. I am immensely grateful.
You will soon see my design!
On a final note, I am delighted and proud that Antbuildz management decide to implement some pages with my design which will be published soon. Stay tuned!
I am glad to have had this first internship and look forward to working with all of the team members in the future. Wishing Antbuildz.com continued success.
