"The EF 28 f/1.8 is Canon's only large aperture wide angle prime before the ultra expensive EF 24 f/1.4L. It's a great little lens for basically anything. It's not the sharpest lens wide open but stop it down to f/2.8 for perfectly sharp shots. It's small and compact size makes this my favourite lens for street/travel photography, it just works and gives consistently excellent images.
